I had butterflies in my stomach knowing that we are going to see the Grand Canyon. Seriously, I am so excited. The day before we made it to Williams, AZ on historic route 66. That evening it was the most magnificent sunset.
The small town was decorated like a little Christmas town right out of the movies. We walked around and awed at the pretty lights. We even found Elvis in front of a diner.
Early the next morning we drove to Grand Canyon National Park.
Walking to the edge of the Canyon it took my breath away. It overwhelms my senses through its immense size. Amazing, absolutely amazing.
Did you know that the Grand Canyon is 277 river miles long, up to 18 miles wide and 1 mile deep?
An amazing feeling standing on the edge of the canyon.
Have I mentioned how excited I am to be here???
The Grand Canyon offers a shuttle bus to hiking spots and popular overlooks. We hiked a few miles and held tight to little hands because the trail is on the edge of the canyon.
Hiking the rim of the canyon.
Doing push-ups in the most epic place ever!
If you look closely you can see the Colorado river in the center of the canyon.
The kids became Junior Rangers of the Grand Canyon National Park. The park ranger added something about always doing dishes for their Mom to the oath. :)
